Hello - MFT March Teasers, Day One

teaserday1_2013mar5
It's that wonderful time—time for MFT teasers!! SO many fabulous things for you this month and we can’t wait to show them to you. Today we’re previewing a Lisa Johnson set, LJD Pretty Poppies. And I have to tell you, I’m having a hard time putting these down! I love them second only to Lisa’s leaves set from the fall, and that, my friends, is saying a lot :) So, I have a card for you but first, here are a few things you need to know:

Here are the details about the upcoming release:

  • You can attend the New Release Party on March 11 from 8-10 PM EST HERE in the MFT forum, where you can WIN PRIZES!
  • The MFT release, including all new stamp sets and Die-namics, is on March 11 at 10 PM EST.  You'll find all the newest products HERE at release time.
  • The guest designer contest is going on now!  Check out the forum for details on how YOU can win over $200 in stamp sets and Die-namics.
  • If you'd like to see all the teasers for today, please click on over to the MFT Blog NOW.  Be sure to leave comments as you go for the chance to win one of 2, $10 gift certificates given away daily.  The winners will be posted on March 11 just before the release party, on the MFT blog.

Now, about my card. I have a graphic of the set below and you’ll see something really exciting, at least it was to me—a script background stamp! Be still my heart! More about that in a minute.

First of all, I plotted where I wanted my poppies and stamped them with Wild Cherry ink. Then I added in the stems, the leaves, and the buds with a new ink being released this month, Gumdrop Green, and colored the centers with Copic markers. I die cut one (YES! there are matching dies!!) with the companion Die-namics Poppies and Leaves and stamped and colored it.THEN, I stamped the script image with brown ink all over the panel. I simply inked it up once, stamped fully inked at the bottom and continued to move my stamp up the card, effectively inking off until there was no ink left. Then I matted it with Black Licorice card stock on a Kraft card stock base, stamped the sentiment in Black Licorice ink, and popped up the die-cut poppy on foam. I really love how this turned out.

Here’s how I did the INSIDE of the card:
