Howdy, folks! Today marks the first day of MFT October teasers! Today we’re showing you two brand new sets from Lisa Johnson Designs, Howdy and Western Backgrounds. Lisa has done it again, she’s knocked it out of the park with these two sets.

  • The MFT release, including all new stamp sets and Die-namics, is on October 16 at 10 PM EST.  You'll find all the newest products HERE at release time.
  • The guest designer contest is going on now!  Check out the forum for details on how YOU can win over $200 in stamp sets and Die-namics.
  • If you'd like to see all the teasers for today, please click on over to the MFT Blog NOW.  Be sure to leave comments as you go for the chance to win one of 2, $10 gift certificates given away daily.  The winners will be posted on October 16 just before the release party, on the MFT blog.

Alrighty, then :) I thought this would make an awesome guy birthday card. The very first thing I did was die cut the sign from Kraft card stock with my Die-namics Howdy Frames and stamped it with the wood image from Western Backgrounds with Kraft ink, stamped off once. Then I over stamped that with the sentiment in Versafine Black Onyx and the stars in Versafine Satin Red and sponged the edges with a little distress ink. Then I made my border with my Die-namics Western Star Border Duo, another new die being released this month. Next I stamped the horse image on some patterned paper and cut it out with my Die-namics Circle STAX and matted it with Black Licorice card stock. The only thing left was to distress it up a bit and put it together. I was wondering how to attach the sign and decided to tie it onto some hemp cord. I was aiming for a barbed wire look—did I succeed? Finally, I added some brads for balance and it was done!

Here’s the inside, with another sentiment from the set:
